This version of SightCall includes significant updates for Microsoft Windows users and additional improvements and updates for both Windows and macOS.
If your agents receive automatic plugin updates, they will get the update next time they log in. If your IT department manages plugin updates, the latest Admin plugin update is available in this article.
SightCall Plugin for Microsoft Windows
Note: Starting with the 9.X plugin series, only Windows 10 and up are supported
The following updates apply only to agents using SightCall on Microsoft Windows:
Enhancements
The Remote Control feature has been updated to be significantly more responsive in terms of frames per second (fps), with a higher quality display. For best results, this feature is only recommended for Windows users with a stable network connection.
This version of the SightCall plugin supports Agent Virtual Backgrounds on Microsoft Windows. Virtual Backgrounds require a SightCall Edition that supports this feature.
New 64-bit architecture
The Windows version of the SightCall plugin has been migrated to a 64-bit architecture. The resulting changes are listed below.
Plugin name and location changes
The name of the SightCall plugin has been updated in Microsoft Windows. In the Windows Add/Remove Programs list, the SightCall plugin no longer displays as "npRTCCplugin". It is now listed as "SightCall".
The user-based installation of the plugin no longer installs to %APPDATA%\npRTCCplugin\. This new version of the plugin now installs to %APPDATA%\SightCall\.
Plugin automatic update process
The process for automatic update of the Windows-based SightCall plugin is slightly different for this specific release. The expected user experience is:
- User logs into the SightCall Console
- SightCall displays an automated “Update ongoing” dialog
- SightCall Console will refresh automatically.
- The user is prompted to download the plugin (as though the user never installed the plugin previously).
- The user opens the downloaded installer, which will remove the existing version of the SightCall plugin and install the updated version.
- SightCall Console will automatically authenticate and go online once the installation is complete.
The process for updating the "admin" version of the SightCall plugin is identical to that of prior releases.
Note that there is no automated "downgrade" available for this plugin version. This plugin must be manually uninstalled via Add/Remove Programs before reverting to any prior version of the plugin.

The following updates apply to SightCall agents on both Windows and macOS:
Bugfix
This version fixes a bug in screen share that caused a delay in screen share packet transmission, causing a significant delay in screen updates during the share. Additionally, the number of frames per second (fps) has been increased for screen share overall to improve responsiveness.
Library updates
Many libraries used by the SightCall plugin have been updated to take advantage of security improvements, stability improvements, and bug fixes. Updated libraries with version numbers in this SightCall plugin are:
