RTCC Driver User Guide

Warning - The RTCC driver will soon be deprecated. Please use our new Plugin instead

Overview

This document describes how to use the RTCCdriver (download, installation, start, stop and uninstall). Once you download and install the RTCCdriver, it is run at start-up time on your system and quietly runs in the background.

Sometimes, however, you may have a reason to stop the driver. Or you may want to force it to stop and restart. Access to the control panel for the RTCCdriver is different on OS X and Windows.

Download and installation

You will be invited to download the RTCCdriver installer if you are using SightCall video services on a non WebRTC-capable browser or if you are running a RTCCdriver-only implementation. Once you downloaded the RTCCdriver, install it by double clicking on the installer and following the instructions.

Mac OS

You don't need the administration rights on the machine you are trying to install the RTCC.

 

If the RTCCdriver is running, it will show an icon in right section of the Top Menu Bar. Click on the icon to see the menu options. The icon should be as follow:

Start the RTCCdriver

If the RTCCdriver has been stopped, you can open the System Preferences and click on the  preference icon at the bottom of the panel. In this panel you will see a button Start, click on it to start the RTCCdriver.

Restart the RTCCdriver

To restart the RTCCdriver, there is two possibilities, You can open the System Preferences and click on the  preference icon at the bottom of the panel. In this panel you will see a button Restart, click on it to restart the RTCCdriver.

Or

You can click on the RTCCdriver icon in the right section of the Top Menu Bar and click Restart.

Stop the RTCCdriver

To stop the RTCCdriver, there is two possibilities, You can open the System Preferences and click on the  preference icon at the bottom of the panel. In this panel you will see a button Stop, click on it to stop the RTCCdriver.

Or

You can click on the RTCCdriver icon in the right section of the Top Menu Bar and click Quit.

Uninstall the RTCCdriver

To uninstall the RTCCdriver, you can open the System Preferences and click on the  preference icon at the bottom of the panel. In this panel you will see a button Uninstall, click on it to uninstall the RTCCdriver.

Windows

If the RTCCdriver is running, it will show an icon in the System Tray. Right-click on the icon to see the menu options. The icon should be:

Start the RTCCdriver

If the RTCCdriver has been stopped, you can start it by using File Explorer to navigate to

C:\Users\{user}\RTCCdriver\bin\

and double-clicking on RTCCdriver.exe to start.

Restart the RTCCdriver

To restart the RTCCdriver, right-click the RTCCdriver icon in the System Tray and you will find a menu item called Restart.

Stop the RTCCdriver

To Stop the RTCCdriver, right-click the RTCCdriver icon in the System Tray and you will find a menu item called Quit

Uninstall the RTCCdriver

To Uninstall the RTCCdriver, you will first need to stop it. Then use File Explorer to navigate to

C:\Users\{user}\

and delete the RTCCdriver folder
