SightCall Plugin 9.4.4270 or newer includes several improvements and enhancements to ensure the best performance and user experience. The primary areas of focus in this release are bug fixes, code cleanup to optimize size/functionality by removing deprecated/legacy code, and underlying support for upcoming platform features.
Notable bug fixes/stability improvements
-
(WebRTC) Snapshot - Fixed an issue that would cause the snapshot images to be corrupted, leading to a plugin crash after multiple uses.
-
Plugin installer now ships with required GoDaddy CA root certificates for SightCall’s rtccloud.net domain. This prevents an issue with some newer Windows 10/11 images in which the operating system does not automatically fetch these certificates on first use, leading to the plugin remaining in an offline state indefinitely. The plugin no longer relies on Windows to perform this task.
-
Faster reconnection to real-time platform (outside of a call) to handle network disconnects caused by specific events, such as: PC sleep/wake, (on mobile) browser tab switch/switch from background, and network change.
-
“Warmboot” reconnection mechanism has been improved for the purpose of more accurately reporting presence status, particularly for ACD.
-
Optimized VP8 tuning parameters to better respond to bandwidth overshoot.
-
Removal of bubble pop up messages generated by the plugin. All following pop ups are generated by the web console
Feature improvements/additions
-
(Flow platform) Support for meetings
-
(Flow platform) Automatic escalation from 1:1 call routing to MVS routing. This is an improvement over the existing routing that is based purely on use case configuration rather than real-time call participation.
-
(Windows) Screen sharing now allows selecting from multiple monitor screen (previously only the primary monitor was made available).
-
Screen sharing from a 4k monitor is optimized for performance.
-
Improved handling of proxy PAC files when accessed via https.
